The Oregon Department of Education released statewide graduation rate data for the Class of 2022 on Thursday, January 26. The statewide rate for 21-22 students is 81.3%, which is the second highest graduation rate ever recorded in Oregon. The data also indicate gains for every student group compared to the previous year (20-21).
Ukiah School District had a rate of 100%. Superintendent Laura Orr said “Although Ukiah is a very small district, students face many of the same challenges and barriers. Having every senior graduate and walk across the stage for their diploma is what everyone in our district strives for.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students in Oregon and across the nation graduating in 2022 experienced interruptions to their learning, which brought a variety of challenges to students and school staffs alike.
“Despite the Class of 2022 experiencing a variety of hardships, they persevered and graduated on time, and we are very proud of them!” Orr said.
